Cleveland State University (CSU) and the University of Mount Union have established an articulation agreement to allow Mount Union engineering and physics graduates to enter one of CSU’s seven master’s degree programs directly.
Under the new partnership, Mount Union students with a cumulative 2.75-grade point average (GPA) in biomedical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering will be eligible for admission to CSU’s relevant master’s degree programs.
Students who earn a 3.0 GPA in Mount Union’s computer engineering program can apply to CSU’s master’s programs in computer science and software engineering.
Students who graduate from Mount Union with a 3.0 GPA will be eligible for direct admission to any of the six CSU master’s degree programs indicated above, as well as a Master of Science in chemical engineering.
According to Chad Korach, director of Mount Union’s School of Engineering, their graduates will be able to pursue their education and assist the expanding needs of regional companies by partnering with CSU on direct admission into advanced graduate engineering degrees.
The School of Engineering at Mount Union offers five programs, including Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology-accredited (ABET) civil and mechanical engineering programs.
Mount Union’s programs boast a 100 percent industry or graduate school placement rate for the 2019 graduating class.
Michael Hollenbaugh, director of graduate admissions and diversity initiatives at CSU, said they are excited to collaborate with the University of Mount Union to promote economic growth by retaining top talent in Northeast Ohio.
CSU is also looking forward to preparing students for high-demand disciplines like engineering and data science in the post-pandemic workforce.
