UNESCO Global Report

UNESCO published a new global report titled “Reimagining our Futures Together: A New Social Contract for Education” in November 2021.

The report, which drew over a million individuals from around the world to participate in a worldwide consultation process, asks for society to work together for the common good and is based on the belief that education should correct injustices while also altering the future.

The UNESCO Future of Education report calls for a commitment to social discourse and thought to eliminate discrimination, marginalization, and exclusion.

It has been emphasized in the report that a new educational, social compact will be established through cross-border information exchange and millions of individual and collective acts of courage, leadership, resistance, creativity, and caring.

The report also added that it would require contributions from all stakeholders, including teachers, students, academics, research centers, institutions, governments, and non-governmental organizations.

On Jan. 24, 2019, the first-ever International Day of Education was observed, and this year will be the fourth time that it will be commemorated to highlight that education is one of everyone’s basic rights.
