A lot of students may think of France as a study destination but not seriously consider it due to expensive tuition fees. Studying and living in Europe is a very costly experience, as some may believe.

But this isn’t all true. There are ways that you can maintain spending less in France. One way is through applying to one of these most affordable universities in France:

Université Paris-Saclay

A public research university in the heart of Paris, the Paris-Saclay University traces its heritage back to the University of Paris founded in 1150. This historical university is the cheapest French university with only a $206 tuition fee a year. It is famous for its Mathematics program, though it also offers programs in Science, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, Economics, Management, and Sports Science. Currently, the university has 28,000 students, 16% of these are international students.

Université d’Orléans

Founded in 1305 and re-founded in 1960, the University of Orleans is a public university located in Orleans-la-Source. The university provides undergraduate and graduate degrees in the Arts, Humanities, Languages, Economics, Social Science, and Technology.

Aix-Marseille Université

Aix-Marseille Université (AMU) can be found in the beautiful region of Southern France. At present, this public university offers studies in many fields such as Law & Political Science, Arts & Literature, Economics & Management, Health, and Science & Technology. AMU is home to 68,000 students and 13% of which are non-EU students.

Université Toulouse 1 Capitole

Toulouse 1 University Capitole is another affordable university for international students. It was founded in 1968 and is located in southwestern France. Undergraduate and graduate programs are widely accessible in degrees such as Law, Economics, Political Science, Management, Communications, and Information Technology. There are around 21,000 students attending classes in the UT1 main campus alongside satellite branches in Montauban and Rodez.

Université de Montpellier

Situated in the heart of Southeastern France and considered as one of the world’s oldest universities founded in 1220, the University of Montpellier is an inexpensive institution offering quality education. If you are interested in enrolling here, you will have a lot of programs to choose from Economics, Physical Education, Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, Education,  Science, General Administration, Business Administration, Management, Engineering, and Technology. The university holds a large student population of more than 39,000 students, 15% of which comprises international students.

Université de Paris

A historical university with roots tracing back to the 1150-founded University of Paris, this affordable university was re-established last 2017. Today, the university has three faculties, namely, Science, Health, and Humanities & Social Science. Due to its reputation and history, it is home to one of the most populated institutions in the country, with about 63,000 students to date. International students represent around 18% of the overall enrollees.
