Scholarships for International Students in Canada in 2022

1. Loran Scholars Foundation

The Loran Scholarship is Canada’s most extensive undergraduate fully funded scholarship. This financial aid is worth $100,000, comprising a $10,000 annual stipend, tuition waiver, summer internships, mentoring program, and more. It helps young people aspiring to realise their full potential and wanting to make a positive difference in the world.

2. Schulich Leader Scholarships

Undergraduate STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) students from across Canada are eligible to apply for the Schulich Leader Scholarships. This scholarship is awarded to students who have excelled in the classroom, have shown leadership abilities, and have exhibited a wide range of creative thinking and personality. The Schulich Leader Scholarships are given by the University of British Columbia, amounting to $100,000.

3. University of Ottawa President’s Scholarship

The University of Ottawa President’s Scholarship is one of the most well-known and widely respected scholarship programs at the University of Ottawa. This is granted to international students newly admitted to the University of Ottawa whose work and dedication match the school’s goals.

4. International Major Entrance Scholarship

International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES) are specific to outstanding overseas students enrolling in undergraduate degrees at the University of British Columbia (UBC). IMES scholarships are given to first-year UBC students. It’s renewable for up to three more years of education. The number and level of these scholarships can change each year according to available funds.

5. Trudeau Scholarships

This Canadian government scholarship program is designed to train involved leaders and upskill them with the skill sets necessary to translate their thoughts into action for their societies, Canada, and the world at large in three years.

Each year, up to 16 doctoral scholars from around the world and the United States are chosen and given a generous amount of money for their studies and leadership training through Brave Spaces.

Trudeau doctoral scholars are awarded up to CA$60,000 a year for a total of three years to pay for the expenses of their education, living, communication, travel, and activities associated with the acquisition of foreign languages. This award is made available by the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation.

 

6. Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program aims to support outstanding postdoctoral candidates from across Canada and around the world. They specifically offer this to students who will significantly contribute to the country’s economic, social, and scientific advancement. These are fully-funded opportunities for international students to pursue higher education in Canada. The Canadian government funds this financial assistance program.

7. UdeM Exemption Scholarship

This new scholarship program aims to bring the best and brightest minds from across the globe to study at one of the world’s most prestigious French-speaking research institutions. In return, these students will contribute to the accomplishment of educational goals by broadening the range of cultural perspectives represented within the student body at the University of Montreal.

8. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship (Vanier CGS) program honours Major-General Georges P. Vanier, the very first French-speaking Governor General of Canada, by attracting highly competent doctoral students to study in Canada. During the recipient’s doctoral studies, they will receive a scholarship with an annual value of $50,000 for a total of three years.

9. University of Calgary Scholarships

The University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship is a full-paying scholarship for first-year students. If you’re an overseas student starting your first year in the Fall term of your undergraduate program, you can apply for a grant of CA$60,000, CA$15,000 (renewable annually), or CA$10,000 (non-renewable).

10. Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program

With the objective of assisting international students, the University of Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program 2022 has allocated a sum of money. There are 37 undergraduate scholarships up for grabs. For four years, the full cost of education, including books, supplies, and living expenses, will be covered by this grant.

11. University of Waterloo Scholarships

International students have the opportunity to receive full financial support through the University of Waterloo Scholarship. Students can take advantage of this financial assistance program to pursue an undergraduate degree, a master’s degree, or even a doctoral degree. Scholarships from Waterloo University can be worth up to CA$10,000.
