Why More Indian Families are Considering International Education

It used to be that international education was meant mostly for higher education learning. This essentially involved college and university students going abroad to study. Now, however, even middle and high school students consider going abroad to gain knowledge and learning. 

This is particularly true in India, says a new survey by University World News. More specifically. 79 percent or 2 out of every 4 Indian students are looking to study in-person, on-campus overseas.

But what is driving or fueling this renewed interest to study abroad, even for high school students?

• One key factor is the balanced and flexible curriculum of many international education institutions: A lot of international education institutions not only emphasize academics but likewise pay close attention to co- and extracurricular activities in shaping young minds and offering a well-balanced personality. This is important not only to students but parents as well as it can lead to a brighter future with numerous career opportunities awaiting students after graduation.
• A growing high-income population that sees the importance and value of a well-balanced education, as well as gaming new insights and being open to new ideas and cultures. Again, this opens up the individual to new opportunities in life. 
• More accessible student loans by both the government and private lenders. There are even financial institutions that do not require collateral and can extend a loan in a very short period of time with easy amortization terms.
• More parents and students have opened themselves to other international education destinations apart from the top choices: Apart from the usual places such as the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, many families now see countries such as the Middle East, As well as European countries as viable study destinations.
• Easing of border restrictions: The last one is a response to the continued easing of border restrictions as fewer COVID-19 cases are reported around the world. What this indicates is that there have already been a large number of Indian families considering international education yet had to put these on hold due to the pandemic that gripped the world over the past 2 years.

Traditionally, Indian families have put education at the top or near the top of their priorities. This is essentially why many look to international education as it offers quality that is now within reach. And as the world continues to open up after the pandemic, so too are Indian parents’ and students’ minds opening up to the potential that international education offers. 

With this, we will most likely see more Indian students studying abroad in different parts of the world in the years to come.
